Endure the Journey
Life is a journey — one that begins the moment we take our first breath. Along the way, we encounter moments of joy and moments of pain; days of sunshine and days of storms. We face seasons of abundance and seasons of scarcity. This is the rhythm of life — a blend of highs and lows, of good and bad, of harsh winds and gentle breezes.
At some point in our journey, we step into something new — a pursuit we believe in, something we hope will bear fruit. It might be the path of education, the leap into business, the work of personal development, or the commitment of relationships, courtship, or marriage. It may even be a dream project we’ve carried in our hearts for years.
In the beginning, these ventures often feel like a fresh sunrise. We start with power, enthusiasm, joy, hope, and unshakable optimism. Our minds overflow with possibilities; our hearts brim with expectation.
But then — somewhere along the way — the winds change. The dream that once seemed so certain begins to look distant. The confidence we started with begins to fade. What we thought was a straight path turns into a maze of unexpected turns. Doubt whispers, “Did I make the wrong choice? Did I miss my moment?”
The truth is, there is nothing you can start in life that will be free from setbacks.
-
No path is without its obstacles.
-
No dream comes without opposition.
-
No good work will remain untouched by resistance.
There will always be forces — seen or unseen — that try to pull you back. Sometimes these challenges come from others, sometimes from within ourselves, and sometimes from circumstances beyond our control.
There’s a Swahili proverb that says, “Mti mwema haukosi kupigwa mawe” — “A good tree never fails to be stoned.” Why? Because a fruitful tree draws attention. The sweeter the fruit, the more it is sought after — by people, by animals, even by birds. In the same way, your life’s good work and your God-given gifts will attract both admiration and resistance.
Knowing this, you must decide to face every challenge with courage. See each trial not as a signal to give up, but as a test of your endurance and a proof of your worth. Just as tunnels are dark but lead to light, so too are life’s difficult seasons only a passage to brighter days. When the light finally shines again, the pain of the darkness fades, and joy returns in full measure.
So, whatever season you are in today — whether it’s a time of sowing, waiting, or reaping — stay focused.
-
Be vigilant and aware of the times and seasons.
-
Guard your heart against discouragement.
-
Keep your eyes on the vision, even when the road feels long.
Remember, the presence of opposition is often proof that what you carry is valuable. Don’t stop. Don’t turn back. The very fact that the journey is hard means the destination is worth it.
When you feel like quitting — take one more step.
When the night feels endless — believe that morning is coming.
When voices say you can’t — answer back with your actions.
Stand your ground, keep moving forward, and hold on to your faith.
You are stronger than you think.
You are closer than you realize.
And your breakthrough is worth every battle.
